TyresLeicester.co.uk privacy policy
What we collect and why
1. Searching for tyres
Whenever you look up a car by its registration, the registration and postcode you type are sent to work out the sizes that fit the car and the closest fitting centres. Our fulfilment partner, Tyres.co.uk, performs that lookup from its own vehicle and centre data; no record ties that search to you, and nothing of it is kept here except the ordinary server log. A size search involves no personal details at all.
2. The centre finder
The finder that orders centres by distance resolves the postcode you enter to a point on the map through postcodes.io, a public service, so the listed centres can be ranked by distance from you. Your postcode is not saved anywhere on this site; it is used once and dropped.
3. Maps and weather
The maps use OpenStreetMap tiles, that your browser asks openstreetmap.org for directly, so openstreetmap.org sees your IP address, as any site you load does. Weather for Leicester is requested by our server from the Met Office (or MET Norway if that is unavailable) for the city as a whole, and carries nothing about you.
4. Cookies and logs
TyresLeicester.co.uk sets no advertising or analytics cookies, and there is no tracking script anywhere on it, on any page. The host is Vercel, which keeps the usual short-lived server logs of IP address, browser and pages requested for security and to keep the site running; they are not used to identify you.
5. When you buy
When a tyre is chosen and buy is pressed, this site hands you over and the rest of the order happens with our fulfilment partner, Tyres.co.uk. Your name, address, payment details, vehicle and fitting booking are gathered and held by Tyres.co.uk under its own privacy policy, which explains how that information is used and how to exercise your rights over it.
6. Reviews
All the reviews published here are written by verified buyers and passed on by Tyres.co.uk, and show only a first name and initial. No review is collected on this site, and nothing you type here becomes one; the writers are not contactable through this site.
7. Your rights and contact
Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data is held about you, have it corrected or erased, and object to it being used at all. As this site holds almost nothing, the data in question is usually an order, and that sits with Tyres.co.uk; in any event, use the contact page. We may update this policy, and whatever is on this page is the version that applies, so check back if it matters to you.
